We call it...White space is important in design too! We call it "negative space". It helps the viewer to focus on what's really important in a piece - be it words or an image. I always tell my clients: "less is more", which is true in life as well. Doing more and more isn't always beneficial. Doing less sometimes gives you more room for the more.

Recently, in my story, I've been getting better at creating "margin time", but I've been spending a lot of that time on myself - not on my getting to know God more. So that's been my goal, the moment I find myself with some time I ask, how can I connect with God here. With the weather turning colder, I'm finding myself more indoors - so reading His Word and journaling have been my go-to worships of late. Granted, I haven't taken any extreme motorcycle rides to get there. I usually take the safe route to the local library via my car ;)Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03811470397922068954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30534753.post-54280546310457955872012-10-12T22:48:48.302-07:002012-10-12T22:48:48.302-07:00I look forward to heaven more and more every year ...I look forward to heaven more and more every year I do ministry. Some days the potholes of life add up to too many cold, lonely, unexpectedly difficult miles that end up leaving me with a chapped, sore butt, and a beat up ride, and a lot of bug crud to wipe up - and not much else. :)

So in my middle aged years, I feel thankful for any and all joys, no matter how small anymore. I used to take small happinesses and releases and general relief/breaks for granted. No longer. The burden of carrying my own pains as well as many, many others, is simply heavier than the lighthearted things.

Reality.
The road the way it is, not as I wish it were.

Do I feel 'stuck' on that long road now and then? Unable to just get off? Absolutely. Some days are just like that though and I accept that because it's what we're called to ride out and endure sometimes. And other times, not so much. There is both self-imposed and God-provided relief and joy. At the end of whichever kind of ride I've been on lately though, I now there's a light at the end of The Long Haul. And it's not that of an oncoming train. ;) Beast Momhttp://www.beastmom.comnoreply@blogger.com
