I think we have trouble compartmental...Great post! I think we have trouble compartmentalizing God to certain areas of our lives which keeps Him at a distance. If He's not permeating our consciousness at every juncture of our lives, it does not mean He is not present there. That limits God to what our feeble minds can capably handle and thankfully, He is way beyond what we can ever dream or imagine.
